Church radio

Are you looking for a way to allow people to listen to church services from home? Or, do you already have some kind of church phone system but are looking for a new system that is cheaper and/or better fits your needs?  We can help to find a solution that best fits your needs while understanding the limited budgets that many church groups have. There are several options available.

Traditional church phone

The problem

A traditional church phone system consists of a central set of phone lines that are dedicated to the church. Each listener then dials into the system using a speaker phone. While easy to use for listeners, the costs are often high for the church. This severally limits the number of people who can listen along, and thereby limits the ministry of the church. People who connect from further away (such as another city, state/province, or country) often incur long distance charges.

Our solution

We can provide a more modern version of this. Instead of having dedicated (minimum $40/month/line) lines at the church, we provide phone lines at a much cheaper cost. Depending on the number of lines involved now, this can be 25-75% cheaper then what your organization currently pays. At the same time, we can provide additional functionality such as better logging, authentication via CallerID or PIN code, and bridging to (or from) a more modern streaming solution.

Internet Radio

The problem

Traditional church phone systems have several key disadvantages:

  • Analog lines are expensive
  • Listeners from other cities, provinces/states, and countries have to pay long distance fees
  • Audio quality is low

Our solution

We can provide a modern internet-radio based broadcasting solution. Using dedicated equipment, we convert the audio from the church to either an MP3 or OGG stream. This stream can be listened to in several ways:

  • Via internet radio receivers via either a highspeed or dialup connection
  • Via a PC or laptop that has some kind of existing Internet connection

Please note that Internet access is NOT required. When using a device such as the Lukas, we can include an affordable dialup subscription. This utilizes a local dialup number so that long distance fees are avoided. All the listener needs to do is: plug in and listen!  Even though a slow dialup connection is used, the quality improvement over traditional dialup is amazing.

For people listening in older homes with poor wiring or in very rural areas, the dialup may not be reliable enough. For those situations, we can cross connect the MP3 stream to our phone server, so that listeners can still use a speaker phone to listen along.
