Isabelle Schmidt

Can you share details about your role at the company and provide an overview of your primary responsibilities?

In my role as the Assistant Vice President of Projects and virtual Chief Information Officer (vCIO), my main focus is on working closely with our clients to align their organizational objectives with tailored technical solutions. Once these objectives are defined, I collaborate with our Projects team to efficiently and effectively implement these solutions, ensuring that our clients’ IT needs are met in a way that aligns with their broader goals.

What does a typical day in your job look like?

A typical day in my role primarily revolves around meetings, and I must say, there are lots and lots of them. These meetings serve as a crucial platform for collaborating with our clients, aligning their goals with our technical solutions, and coordinating with our Projects team to ensure smooth and successful implementations. It’s a fast-paced environment where communication and teamwork play a pivotal role in delivering top-notch IT support and services.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your work at Kerkhoff Technologies?

The most gratifying aspect of my work at Kerkhoff Technologies is the opportunity to collaborate with our exceptional team to enhance the organizations we serve. Witnessing these organizations thrive as they harness the tools we’ve implemented and the knowledge we’ve imparted is incredibly fulfilling. It’s a journey of growth and achievement that motivates me every day.

What are some recent developments or innovations in your field that you find exciting?

The cohesive ecosystems vendors are building. They really level the playing field across the business world. A small nonprofit has access to some of the most powerful productivity tools available, capabilities reserved for Enterprise just 5-10 years ago.

What’s your number 1 tech tip?

Pick an ecosystem and stick to it. All the major vendors, Apple, Microsoft, Google, etc. have a full suite of products that integrate and work together. When the software, hardware, and accessories are designed to work together from the ground up, magic happens.

What’s your favorite way to unwind after a long day at work?

Music, Reading, Gaming, Socializing.

Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of work that you are passionate about?

Aside from friends and family, I spend a substantial amount of time delving into something technical.

What’s your favorite type of cuisine or restaurant, and what dish can you never resist ordering?

Probably Asian food; couldn’t resist a black bean veggie/beef dish.

Can you share a fun or interesting fact about yourself that most people don’t know?

I spent like 10 years learning to sword fight at one point…

What’s your go-to music playlist or artist for getting pumped up before a busy day?

Go-To playlist is simply called “Nightlife” a collection of Goth Rock, Darkwave/NewWave: both classic and modern. My absolute go-to artist is The Birthday Massacre, an awesome troop out of Toronto.

What’s your favorite quote or piece of advice that you live by?

Be Excellent to Each other

If you could have a superpower, what would it be, and how would you use it?

Wow, um… I have no idea. The most fascinating comic book character in my opinion would be Death of the Endless, from Neil Gaiman’s Sandman.
